These stealthy predators, whose likeness embodied the greatest deities of ancient American civilization, exert a powerful presence that is felt but rarely seen in the tropical forests they call home. Named for a population of these legendary creatures, the Menagerie Cabernet Sauvignon casts a profound impression on all who encounter it, now and for decades to come.

The 2021 Cabernet is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Cabernet Franc, sourced from three distinct Napa Valley sites: two in the Oakville AVA and one on Pritchard Hill. Each site was harvested, then aged in 85% new French oak for 12 months. This wine beautifully exemplifies the vintage, which, after a dry winter, yielded smaller berries and concentrated fruit. It is dark in color with explosive aromatics of mountain herbs, cedar, violets, graphite, ripe plums, and black cherries. The palate is dense yet not heavy, full-bodied, and harmonious, offering notes of black cherries, ripe plums, warm holiday spices, and French oak. The wine is impeccably structured with refined tannins, fruit sweetness, and considerable tension, leading to a long finish supported by excellent structure and acidity. The 2021 vintage is approachable in its youth and holds great aging potential, promising to improve over the next two decades.

The Menagerie flagship wine is highly expressive in the glass with dark plum fruit, hints of cassis, black currant, and layers of subtle mountain herbs. Aged for 26 months in new French oak, our wine is full bodied, dark and textural. The blend is 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Petit Verdot. The wine embodies hints of vanilla, toffee, and warm spices. The wine has a lengthy finish with velvety tannins and well-integrated acidity that will age for 15+ years.

This wine of clever contrasts is named for a coterie of clandestine creatures whose alternating rings of black and white fur, habits and habitat are unique to their home in the rainforests of Madagascar. Like its namesake, this red blend from Menagerie conspires to change the rules. Its provocative personality presents a bounty of flavor profiles unlike those of any other Cuvée.

The 2021 Conspiracy is a blend of Cabernet and Petit Verdot, aged for 20 months in French oak and an additional 6 months in Bourbon barrels. It offers an explosive nose of black cherry, smoky bacon, and vanilla. On the palate, it presents a fresh red fruit core with layers of toasted oak, vanilla, cinnamon, black cherries, and black currant. The tannins contribute to a well-structured and balanced wine with pleasing acidity and weight from both the French and Bourbon barrels. The long finish carries a hint of warmth, and this wine is enjoyable now while also possessing significant aging potential.

This Cabernet blend opens up with very unique aromatics of dark plums, toasty oak, vanilla, bourbon notes and a sweet nose. The wine was aged in new French oak for 26 months and finished in rare Rye whisky casks. On the palate it is full bodied, textural with a hint of tannins and layers of sweetness. Notes of ripe plum, blackberry jam with a hint of toasted coconut and vanilla. The blend is 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Petit Verdot resulting in a wine that has a long lingering finish that leaves you with layers of flavors and great weight. The wine can be enjoyed now or cellared for another 15+ years.

On the palate, bright, lively acidity is beautifully balanced by remarkable texture and weight. The Sauvignon Blanc has a light straw color and a beautiful nose with notes of passion fruit, lychee, lemon zest, orange peel and hint of vanilla. On the palate the wine is fresh with great weight and acidity with a hint of sweetness and layers of flavors of lemon tart, passion fruit and pineapple as well as a hint of French oak. The finish is long carried by the great acidity and tension of the wine. This is a classic Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc that is showing well right now and will continue to evolve over the next 5+ years

The 2021 Cabernet is classic for the vintage. Made with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it opens up with expressive aromatics of dark cherry, dark chocolate, and cassis with a hint of holiday spices. On the palate it is full bodied, dark in tone with classic Napa tannins framing the wine from front to back while it showcases notes of dark cherry, black plum and black currant. The finish is long and lingering with a hint of sweetness from the French oak with layers of density carrying the wine. This wine is already showing impressively well and will continue to evolve over the next 20+ years.
